It is not every day one runs into one of the most popular and controversial politician in Nigeria.

The Beat FM on air personality Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi ran into the former president Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on a flight.

The OAP was on a flight from Lagos to California, where she was headed for the World Radio Summit.

Gbemi did not allow this opportunity pass her by as she posed for a selfie with Obasanjo.

She took to Instagram to share the photo with the caption: “Look who was on my flight ……. Baba himself #respect #goingbacktocali #work #worldradiosummit“.


Sometime in March, Gbemi had taken a selfie with President Goodluck Jonathan at Eko Hotel in Lagos state during the meeting he had with 5000 Nigerian youths.

The 78-year-old Obasanjo recently showed the world he’s got a selfie game that can compete with even the most famous selfie takers around the world. He was spotted taking a selfie with an Android phone, aided by a selfie stick.

Gbemi is a Nigerian broadcaster and presenter specially known for presenting programmes on radio stations. She won on-air personality of the year at the 2008 Future Awards. In 2009, she won the ‘Exquisite Lady of the Year’ award for best female radio presenter.
