AC Milan have dismissed coach Filippo Inzaghi after his
first season at the helm of the Rossoneri, the Serie A
club said on Tuesday.
The firing of the former Milan striker, who had one
more year remaining on his contract, is expected to
pave the way for the hiring of Sinisa Mihajlovic after his
departure from Sampdoria.
Inzaghi quit playing in 2012 after winning two Serie A
and two Champions League titles in 11 seasons at the
Rossoneri. He took over the club’s youth team and was
promoted to the first team squad in 2014.
Under his guidance Milan finished the past season in
10th position, failing to qualify for the European
tournaments.
