Chelsea are willing to pay up to £11m
annually, to use Wembley Stadium for three
seasons, if they go ahead with the planned
Stamford Bridge expansion.
According to The Times, the Premier
League champions are likely to need a
temporary home ground from the
2017/2018 season.
Another London team, Tottenham
Hotspur, will also be looking for a new
home around that period while their new
stadium is built. But they have offered
about £8m a year to use Wembley.
;The Wembley board has not decided
whether to rent the national stadium to a
club, especially as it also generates
income from other events like NFL games
and music concerts.
This might force Chelsea to consider
Twickenham, the national rugby union
stadium.
