17 years later, Nigerians pays tribute to a dictator and a hero (Drop Your Tributes)

It’s been exactly 17 years since late Nigerian dictator, Sani Abacha died in mysterious circumstances.

Abacha died on June 8, 1998, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja after complaining of ill health early in the day.

The official cause of death was listed as a heart attack but rumour had it that Abacha had spent the night in the company of two Indian prostitutes who poisoned him.

Most Nigerians remember him as the country’s most vicious leader but some others have christened him a hero and a great man.
