Nigeria - Following students' strikes and protests, the Rector of Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi has been suspended by Bauchi State Governor Mohammed Abubakar.
The Governor's Head of Service, Abdun Dallah Gin, who announced this today says the rector was suspended for alleged mismanagement of funds and high handedness.
He explained that the suspension of the Rector of the institution followed students’ protest and strike by lecturers.
Angry students had barricaded the Bauchi-Jos major roads on Tuesday.
The governor revealed that a high powered committee has been constituted to look in to the grievances of the academics staff and the students of the institution.
