Back in September one of the prominent Nigerian Kings, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi visited London accoumpanied by his 4 wives.As the family left Nigeria, they were dressed in matching outfits which became the object of envy and gossip. After they left Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos, social media was awash with comments about the polygamous marriage.

A lot of people concentrated on the negative aspect of this arrangement but the others celebrated a king and his queens in tune with their culture. Poligamy is frowned upon in many countries, not entirely sure it works, but it seems the king here is making it work and in style too.
